Transformation

Just a quick thought on the magical, amazing process of transformation we all undergo as we grow in life.
I am really big on the concept of transformation as a Christian. I passionately believe that we are to be growing and learning every day we are alive. I find joy in growth and learning and knowing that today I am more equipped for life than I was yesterday.
This works in all of life, not just spirituality.
I love my job, its great fun.
When I look back over my career path I can see how every single job I had previously has helped equip me to do this one. Even jobs that I didn’t enjoy taught me things, up-skilled me and helped me to grow; so now I can do this fabulous job with confidence and success.
Without any one of my previous roles I would be missing a key skill or part of my skillset which equips me to do this job.
To put it spiritually, in some ways it feels like God has redeemed a crappy job in the past by using it to get me this job. It feels like some aspects of the jobs I didn’t like have been made productive and useful because of what I learnt and I can now rejoice in my career knowing that each step along the way was worth it, to get to this point.
Someone once said that the day you stop learning is the day you stop living, and I believe that applies to the ongoing process of transformation as well. The day we stop changing and transforming is the day we stop living. Being alive means growth and change, without that we may as well be inanimate objects without life.
The idea of following Jesus is to learn to do what he did, and to grow to become more like him. We were made in Gods image and Jesus is the revelation of God so this is not the impossible task it may seem, honestly.
Good luck in your growth and transformation.
