Agreeing with God for Healing

Sep 20, 2015

I have recently been reminded about the power our words have and in my personal life I have been reminded that I must spend time reading the bible, getting it into me until I believe it. It’s all about ensuring really do believe, in my heart what I say I believe (the bible).

I find that spending time reading the bible is cleansing, an antidote to the poison we imbibe from the media and advertising agencies (telling me I’m too fat or too pale, too boring, not good enough in general).

When we start to soak in that which is good and pure and focus on the soul not the body we wash off the false beliefs and the accumulated dirt. (It turns out it doesn’t matter if I’m fat, pale or boring!)

Agreement with God

As we start to truly believe what we are reading we begin to be healed of the hurts the world has caused us. The more we ingest the word of God the more we start to believe it is true, that it has value. We start to align our inner most beliefs with it.

When our beliefs are aligned with God we open a channel for his power to flow. We put ourselves into a position where he can move and do amazing things through us and in us. When we get into agreement with God the things around us start to get in line with it too.

Healing is a prime example, I have experienced it in my own life and I will (God willing!) experience it further.

The bible is full of scripture on healing and it is very clear that God says he wants us to be healed. Which begs the tough question; why are so many still sick then?

I can only speak with regard to my specific situation but I would love to pray for anyone who wants prayer. Message me please!

I believe

I believe God wants to heal me and I believe that;

  1. I have to be fully persuaded that his will is for my healing – if there is part of me that thinks maybe God wants me sick, there will be part of me subconsciously holding onto sickness.

  2. I need to get my mind in full agreement with God to allow his power to flow through me without any resistance.

I think God is reminding me of the lessons I learnt in the past during my time of sickness, and gosh I did learn a lot; about myself, about him and about the people around me.

The one thing that I feel really made a difference in the past was when I filled my house with bible verses on Gods healing goodness and started to speak them out loud. It was a fantastic and easy way to get myself in agreement with God.

I think it worked by;

  1. Changing the atmosphere in the house – my house became filled with the words of God and an atmosphere of hope settled.

  2. Changing my focus – before that my focus was on my pain, on the unfairness of life and my troubles but as I spoke out those verses of encouragement I realised that God was bigger than my situation. My mind started to believe the words I was speaking and as the space in my mind for God got bigger, the space for misery and pain got smaller.

  3. Opening my heart to let Gods power move –by creating space and belief in my mind I actually opened a way for Gods power to move through me and into me, healing my body.

I love psalm 23, especially where it says “He restores my soul”. I believe the Holy Spirit gently restores us as we spend time with God. As I pray persistently for my own healing and for others I am being refreshed spiritually.

As we read or listen to the bible our spirits are fed on the good and we are gently restored back to wholeness. As we persuade our minds to accept Gods word, our bodies will often follow.

That is what happened for me. It might happen differently for you, but I am fully persuaded that speaking out the bible’s truths on healing and wellness made all the difference for me.

By speaking the word of God out loud we are seeing the word in written form, hearing the word with our ears and doing the action of speaking it. This is visual, aural and active learning and I find this kick starts my faith.

And as the bible says “faith can move mountains”.

So I am going to go forth and speak the word of God. Will you join me?
