Scary stuff: just tommy rot?
Have you ever felt someone watching you but no one was there? Once when I was on my own I had that feeling. Creepy. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I had a definite sense of unease. You know, the sort of thing where you check under your bed to see if anyone is hiding there. After checking under my bed, I prayed. The feeling intensified and I started to get unnerved. So I did what every self-respecting independent adult does. I called my mummy. There was no answer so I left a message saying "Hi, it’s me. I feel all creeped out and wanted you to pray for me. I'm probably imagining it, don't worry. Love you guys". I prayed for God's protection and then went walking in the sun to try to dispel the feeling. By bed time I was ok and went to sleep without difficulty. The next day I tried calling again and Dad answered. He asked if I had called yesterday, I said in mock horror; "Don’t you recognise your favourite daughter’s voice?
He went silent, then said "No". I made him explain.
I would like to point out that he is not easily unsettled. He usually says that spooky things are someone’s imagination or as he puts it "a load of tommy rot". Anyway he had come home and checked the messages. There was a garbled, scratchy, evil sounding string of syllables. It sounded awful. He had prayed, right then for whoever left that message. Not knowing who it was. He had saved the message because it was so unusual. He gave me the access number so I could call the answering service and hear the message myself. Boy did it creep me out, imagine the Hollywood special sound effects when something evil or demonic is talking. I told Dad why I had originally rung, that I was scared and could feel some sort of malevolent presence. I think this added to the weird factor for him.
By the time we were having this conversation it was the next day. All was well. So we deleted the message.
Phones are stupid but why was it my message that did this? Messages before and after were normal? Why was I able to leave messages on other peoples phones that sounded normal before I had this feeling? It was definitely odd. On its own I would just consider it an unsettling coincidence but when put together with everything I have experienced, it starts to add up. What it adds up to is debatable. But the concept of another realm, with things we can’t see is starting to be more real to me.
The message translation of the bible says in the book of Ephesians, in chapter 6, verse 12:
“ we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world”
And sometimes I really start to wonder, what is going on that I can’t see?

PS- the video clip is being read from the King James Version of the bible, which is basically ye olde english... and worded slightly differently
